Last week I went to NY and it was really fun although I feel like I aged about 2.5 years. I got attacked by some insane metropolitan mosquitoes or some ghetto spiders while we were walking around, so my arm was covered with 14 enormous welts, each with it's own weird core that slowly poisoned my arm until it had no feeling except a dull throbbing. I thought I was crazy because everyone was saying, "there are no mosquitoes in NYC." Whatever they were, they really took advantage of me.
We went to a lot of fabric stores, including Mood -- the one they shop at in Project Runway. It definitely was one of the best of the dozen or so we stopped in. I only bought 3 yards of fabric total -- it was kind of overwhelming and I didn't have a project planned, so I felt adrift. Like a little tailor in couture-ville.
Tomorrow, B and I head to Minneapolis for my friend's wedding. I am excited because (a) I think she and her fiance are perfect together, (b) we get to stay in another nice hotel (I stayed one night at the Hudson in NY last week and it was cool), and (c) it will be nice to see some old friends -- gals I haven't really spoken with in 20 years!! Plus, B said he'd dance with me at the reception so we are going to boogie (he never dances in public, but I love his funny home dances that make me giggle). He's takin' it to the streets!
Oh, and the Decatur part of the post is that I am really falling in love with the idea of living in Decatur, Georgia. More on that soon.
