We finally splurged and bought a Dyson vacuum a couple weekends ago. And now, I want to vacuum the world of all its ugliness and filth.
But seriously, it's a life changing domestic tool. Now I know how the first housewives with washing machines, dishwashers and electric can openers felt.
We ended up buying the DC18, aka The Slim. I began researching the Dyson more than 2 years ago, and eventually I decided that the Animal was the one for us. But once we were at the store, our minds were changed and we realized that the Slim is more fitting for our lifestyle. We have a small house, hardwoods, limited storage, very little upholstery. And I am kind of petite, so the larger models didn't seem to manueuver as well when we pretended we were vacuuming the narrow aisle of the Bed, Bath & Beyond.
Sure, we have a dog, so yes, I may eventually to spring for the turbine head attachment ($69), which is what I read makes the Animal good. But so far, I am totally pleased with the Slim. The first weekend we had it, I emptied the canister about 5 times. Each time it was filled with hair, fuzz and a disgusting silt. I swear the air feels cleaner. And the colors in all of B's Middle Eastern area rugs are beautiful... I never knew how gorgeous these rugs were. Now I can sit on them without getting fur-butt.
