I've been playing around with some felting. I'm totally committed to being self-taught (read: too cheap to buy a book and library is a bust).
First animal I felted was a Boxelder Beetle. Sure, it began as an attempt to felt a cute puppy, but I'm an artist and when the muse slugs me in the bread basket, I go with it.
I'd love to make some adorable reindeer ornaments, but not sure if I can successfully handle the complexity of one of God's creatures. So I am leaning towards candy canes. Or Jesus (baby era) -- also one of God's creatures. Actually the son of God. Of course, I believe in a forgiving God, so my badly rendered infant Jesuses fashioned out of wool roving and stabbed repeatedly with a barbed needle (THAT'S how it gets felted, silly!) wouldn't land me in hell. Or would they?
